Todd also understands that no business can remain stagnant when it comes to technology. To that end, he’s worked to improve the standards used in the business and to bring in more and more advanced technology. Today, J&B makes use of GPS tracking to know where every one of our trucks is at any given moment, and we use EDI software to send documents to customers electronically when they need them.

Our customers are our first and top priority, and this technology makes it possible to continue to serve them in the most efficient way possible. However, we also focus on our employee’s needs, too. We believe it’s possible to make both happy, and we’ve done a good job of doing just that for years. Just take a look at our low employee turnover rate. Our History

our-historyJ&B Services has been in the transportation services industry for more than 25 years. We were founded in 1986 as a freight brokerage by Jerry Bates, and while we still operate a brokerage division, we also have our own fleet. Jerry was a truck driver originally, and while he loved being a broker, it wasn’t long before he had purchased a few of his own trucks. Soon he hired additional drivers, and thanks to Jerry’s experience as a driver, J&B Services quickly grew into a recognizable name known for providing reliable, on-time deliveries anywhere in the lower U.S.

In 2002, Jerry sold the company to his son, Todd. Todd has continued to provide the same high quality services made possible by hiring the best drivers and using the best equipment. He has continued to follow his father’s example of growing in a slow, controlled way—he has expanded the J&B fleet by purchasing a number of new trucks and hiring additional drivers.

Our dedication to solid financials and cash flow have made certain that even during the most turbulent of economic times, we’ve remained solvent and in the black. This means we never need to our rates due to money mismanagement. We want to make sure we’re as affordable as we can be. In fact, we’re always looking for ways to cut our operating costs while making our drivers more comfortable and providing even more efficient and reliable services for our customers.

Milan Supply Chain Solutions, Inc. announces its acquisition of J&B Services, Inc., a leading regional transportation and logistics solution provider, located in Pontotoc, Mississippi. J&B operates a network of employee drivers, utilizing a fleet of company-owned, late model tractors and trailers. The company has a long-term customer base in attractive end markets including lighting, furniture, food and automotive. This acquisition fits well with the Milan culture and allows for further geographic reach, increased brokerage capacity, and expansion of our driver pool. We are pleased to welcome the J&B organization and their proven success and experience into our Milan companies.
